The Relaunch of the Praxity Assurance Committee
Goals and Progress
The Praxity Assurance Committee, a longstanding working group within the global Praxity Alliance, has entered an exciting new chapter. After several years of steady but quiet operations, the Committee welcomed new members in 2025 and re-launched its initiatives with renewed energy and focus. The group got together in-person in January 2025 to map out a forward-looking agenda designed to elevate collaboration, enhance capabilities, and strengthen relationships across member firms. Out of that meeting came six strategic pillars, each aimed at driving measurable improvements in how Praxity firms work together to deliver high-quality assurance services worldwide.

1. Marketing
Recognising that effective proposals and strong positioning are essential in today’s competitive assurance market, the Committee is working on developing shared marketing assets for member firms. This includes creating pitch decks and standardised CV update processes, as well as exploring ways to publish member firm-level data, such as size metrics and firm certifications, on the Praxity website. These initiatives aim to provide members with timely, professional tools that strengthen proposal quality and consistency while retaining the independent nature required of Alliance firms.

2. Capabilities & Technical Abilities
The Committee is prioritising the creation of best-practice documentation across core assurance topics, including differences between private and public audits and sampling methodologies. This work will also identify areas of alignment between member firms’ approaches. In addition, the group is investigating opportunities for technology collaboration, such as sharing onboarding materials for new tech solutions, exploring group licensing options, and assessing Microsoft Teams as a platform for cross-firm cooperation. These steps will help member firms expand their technical resources while encouraging efficiency and innovation.

3. Administration, Organisation, & Monitoring
To foster greater accountability and streamlined communication, the Committee is developing a feedback mechanism for member firms to report performance challenges and share constructive insights. Centralising communications and creating clear administrative channels will improve responsiveness and ensure that important issues are addressed promptly and effectively.

4. Relationship Building
Strengthening professional connections remains a key priority. This year, the Committee has already achieved a notable milestone with increased assurance-focused participation at Praxity conferences, including the newly relabelled Global Tax and Assurance Conference in June 2025. Looking ahead, the group plans to have a strong presence at the upcoming NAI Tax Conference, with an assurance track scheduled for the first day of the conference. Secondment opportunities between firms are also a focus, enabling deeper collaboration and knowledge exchange.
There will also be an assurance practice meeting at the Global Leadership Conference in Los Angeles in October 2025.

5. Reporting
A central part of the Committee’s mission is to communicate its goals and progress to the wider Praxity network. This article serves as an invitation for members to engage with the Committee’s work, especially by sharing their thoughts, feedback, and suggestions for improvement. Members are encouraged to reach out directly to Becky Belanger with any comments or ideas that can help support and strengthen these initiatives.

6. Learning & Development
Several larger member firms have committed to sharing their training programs, paving the way for broader access to IFRS, PCAOB, and ESG training materials across the alliance. The Committee is currently evaluating tools to facilitate this exchange and will establish a dedicated subcommittee for feedback. Beyond formal training, there is a strong interest in creating forums for firms to share their experiences, both successes and challenges, in implementing new technologies, with a special emphasis on AI solutions in assurance.
Through these six pillars, the Praxity Assurance Committee is building a stronger, more connected, and more capable alliance of assurance professionals. The re-launched Committee is already making progress toward its objectives, and with active engagement from member firms, it is poised to achieve even greater impact in the years ahead.
A sign of things to come – The new working group home page
In order to increase the ease and opportunity of international and cross firm collaboration within service lines, Praxity is launching a new landing page. The new page will mark a transition from the old accordion view to a dashboard style landing page with embedded introduction videos, a list of upcoming events, announcements, contacts and a library of resources for each working group. One of the key features includes a link to a Teams channel for enhanced collaboration. We’re confident the changes we are making will elevate the way the working groups interact with each other.
