Introducing the Praxity Assurance Committee

Finding new solutions through stronger connections

The world around us is changing every day. But at Praxity, one thing never changes: our commitment to making a difference to our clients. We’re always searching for new ways to supercharge our clients’ businesses, helping to foster a growth mindset throughout our entire organisation - day in, day out.

Two years ago, we proudly spotlighted our Working Groups Initiative, with a particular focus on the Marketing Working Group. Today, we’re thrilled to unveil the behind-the-scenes workings of our Praxity Assurance Committee, developed to deepen Assurance expertise on an Alliance-wide scale.

The Chair of the Praxity Assurance Committee is Keith Piwko (pictured). Other members of the committee include:

  • Adam Olsen (Moss Adams)
  • Bastian Wenk (FALK)
  • Eduardo Patraca (JA Del Rio)
  • Maruf Raza (MNP)
  • Sam Louis (Praxity)
  • Steffen Ahrens (FALK)

Best practice in Marketing

Marketing touches almost every aspect of our business and, throughout 2025 and beyond, our goal is to bring our Marketing and Assurance divisions closer than ever before. This includes working hand in hand when developing materials that enable the work to shine, like proposal assets and pitch decks. Increasingly we’re standardising our processes across Member Firms, making it more straightforward to access up-to-date information between firms, like CVs, qualifying data, KPIs, internal and external reviews, and firm certifications.

Building effective relationships

We’re a people-first organisation. The Praxity Assurance Committee plans to connect members from across the globe, kicking off with an increased presence at the Praxity Global Tax Conference and the Praxity North American Tax Conference. When it comes to the latter, the Assurance Committee will be taking the reins on a full day of content, with an eye to discussing technological evolutions, component versus group auditing, and examining best in class case studies. This will subsequently be followed by a networking event.

In the short-term, the Assurance Committee is currently considering potential keynote speakers for both conferences. Simultaneously, the Committee has set its sights on requesting budget incentives or subsidies for future secondments, workcations, and cross-border learning opportunities, helping our Alliance grow ever-closer.

A closer look at our capabilities

Throughout the Alliance, we prioritise delivering high quality work, time and time again. That’s why our Praxity Assurance Committee has created a suite of Best Practice documents, benchmarking industry standards across the entire Alliance. These cover a wide variety of topics, ranging from drawing out the differences between private and public audits, to sampling the similarities and differences between each of our Member Firms.

Always on the lookout for what’s next, the Assurance Committee has committed to continually exploring new technological solutions. Each new tool is designed to support efficiency, collaboration and innovation (currently, the committee is considering data tools such as Data Snipper, valuation solutions like Bloomberg, S&P, and Capital IQ, AI technology like Mindbridge and streamlining tools such as Inflow and Caseware). On another note, the Committee is investigating Microsoft Teams as a solution for increased cross-collaboration.

Centralising Administration, Organisation, & Monitoring

Looking ahead to new horizons, the Committee is looking to bring together a simple, centralised mode for communication. This includes a mechanism for Member Firms to provide peer-to-peer feedback across the Alliance.

Reporting across the Alliance

Dialling up our reporting efforts, the Assurance Committee will soon publish a list of formalised goals on the Praxity website, encouraging other Member Firms to provide feedback through an online portal to unlock additional insights and help prepare for the future.

Training opportunities

The world never stays still. So neither do we. Learning and Development is essential amidst shifting marketing realities and, in light of this, the Assurance Committee will be considering technical training opportunities such as IFRS, PCAOB and ESG, service-related training, and strengthening our AI and technology training offer.

Established subcommittees

In addition, the Assurance Committee has created multiple subcommittees to delegate ownership of particular tasks. As of today, those subcommittees include a Marketing Taskforce, a subcommittee for AI and Innovation in Assurance, and a collaboration between the ESG Group and Assurance

Over the coming year, the Praxity Assurance Committee will continue to focus on initiatives that allow them to share their expertise globally. We’re also listening to feedback, and welcome any suggestions and input you may have on the proposed areas of focus.
